What Flex does, and how checkout works
Flex is a payment provider that specializes in HSA and FSA transactions. When you select it at checkout, two things happen at once. It checks whether the items in your cart can qualify, and if a Letter of Medical Necessity is needed, it connects you with a licensed provider on the spot to determine whether you are eligible for one. No appointment. No printing a form, mailing it to your plan administrator, and waiting.
- Select Flex as your payment method. Add your bidet seat to the cart and look for "Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA" in the payment options.
- Answer a short set of questions. A licensed provider reviews your responses. If a bidet seat is appropriate for your situation, Flex issues your Letter of Medical Necessity, which stays valid for 12 months and can be used on other qualifying purchases during that window.
- Pay with your HSA or FSA card. Then one of three things happens, and all three end with you getting your order.
Those three outcomes:
- Everything qualifies. You pay the full amount with your account card and you are done.
- Part of your order qualifies. Flex splits the payment, putting the qualifying portion on your account card and the rest on a regular card. It still arrives as one order with one confirmation.
- Nothing qualifies, or you do not qualify. You will be told before you pay, and you can complete the purchase with any standard payment method.
Do not have your account card in front of you? Select Flex anyway and pay with a regular card. Flex will email you an itemized receipt you can submit to your plan administrator for reimbursement.

03 If you have an FSA, watch your calendar
Every December, a lot of people scramble. There is money sitting in a Flexible Spending Account, a deadline coming, and no obvious way to spend it on anything they actually want. Meanwhile the bidet seat they have been thinking about for two years is still sitting in the cart.
HSA funds roll over, but FSA funds are a different story. Most plans are use-it-or-lose-it with a December 31 deadline.
Check your plan documents now rather than in the last week of December and put your funds to good use today.

Questions people ask
Are bidets HSA or FSA eligible?
Yes, just not automatically. It may qualify only when a licensed provider says it helps manage a specific diagnosed condition. That determination is documented in a Letter of Medical Necessity.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and how long does it last?
A signed document from a licensed provider naming a specific condition and explaining why the purchase helps manage or prevent it. A letter cannot cover more than 12 months, and within that window it may apply to other qualifying purchases. Save it, keep it on file for at least three years for tax purposes, and expect that your FSA administrator may ask to see it. Some plans require a fresh letter each year, so check your plan rules.
What if only part of my order qualifies, or I do not have my account card?
If part of the order qualifies, Flex splits the payment between your account card and a regular card, and it still arrives as one order with one confirmation. If your account card is not in front of you, select Flex anyway and pay with a regular card. Flex emails an itemized receipt you can submit to your plan administrator for reimbursement.
What can Bio Bidet not tell me?
Your balance, whether your specific plan will approve a claim, what your reimbursement window is, and what your savings will come out to, since that depends on your own tax situation. Your plan administrator handles the first three and your tax professional handles the last one. For anything about eligibility itself, that is a conversation with your healthcare provider. What we can do is stop making you guess at checkout.
